What TUSS and ICD-10 are and how to use the search

TUSS (Terminologia Unificada da Saúde Suplementar) is the terminology of the Brazilian TISS standard, maintained by ANS. It is organized in tables, such as 22 (procedures and health events), 18 (daily rates, fees and medical gases), 20 (drugs) and 19 (supplies and OPME, which are orthoses, prostheses and special materials). Each term has a code, a description and start and end dates of validity, and ANS publishes new versions of the tables periodically.

ICD-10 is the World Health Organization’s International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. It organizes diagnoses into chapters, blocks, categories (such as J18) and subcategories (such as J18.9). The Portuguese edition used in Brazil (CID-10) is made available by DATASUS, and this search uses it, so terms are in Portuguese.

How to use: choose TUSS or ICD-10 (and, for TUSS, the table) and type a code or part of the term in Portuguese. The search ignores accents and letter case, accepts words in any order, in singular or plural, and shows whether each TUSS code is in force today. Click a result to see its details, copy the code or open its page. For now, the site includes TUSS tables 22, 18 and 20; table 19 is not available yet. The tables are loaded once and the search runs in your browser. The source, version and publication date are shown at the bottom of the page.
