What the TISS standard is and how to use the validator
TISS (Troca de Informação de Saúde Suplementar) is the standard defined by ANS, the Brazilian National Supplementary Health Agency, for exchanging data between healthcare providers and private health plan operators in Brazil, where its use is mandatory. Its communication component defines XML messages, such as batches of consultation, SP/SADT (outpatient services and diagnostic tests), hospitalization and professional fee claim forms, and ANS publishes a set of XSD schemas for each version.
Each message has a header, which declares the version of the standard in the Padrao element, the content of the transaction, and an epilogue with an MD5 hash computed over the message content, which makes it possible to check whether the file was changed. Procedure, supply and drug codes follow the TUSS terminology.
How to use: drag the XML file into the drop area or choose it from your computer. The validator detects the version declared in the header, checks the file against the official schema of that version (the versions in force and 3.05.00, for old batches), recomputes the epilogue hash and lists each error with its form and line. You can also choose the version manually. Validation runs in your browser, with libxml2 compiled to WebAssembly, and the file is not sent. The official reference is always the ANS publication, and health plans may have rules of their own beyond the schema. The standard and its element names are in Portuguese.
